During the week before the start of the fall term, the Registrar’s Office will send emails to primary instructors teaching on the Storrs and regional campuses asking them to confirm which of their classes will require standard final exams scheduled by the Office of the Registrar during final exam week. The email will include a table that lists the instructor’s classes (excluding classes that don’t typically require exams, such as independent studies) along with our expectation of whether an exam will need to be scheduled:

Please note that the email will include both in-person and online classes; in addition to assigning classrooms, the Registrar’s Office also publishes exam information to student and faculty schedules. If your class will have an exam scheduled for a standard two-hour exam block during exam week, that means that an exam is required, even if the exam will be online. Other types of final assessments, such as final projects or papers, or asynchronous online exams, do not require an exam time block to be scheduled.
If the information in the email is correct, no response is necessary. If the information is incorrect, we ask that instructors please contact registrarscheduling@uconn.edu prior to the 10th day of classes with any necessary changes.
